Welcome Paul Nash
Thursday 31 May, 2018
We are pleased to announce that Paul Nash has joined Aberley as a Director on our Board.
Specialising in project management consultancy, Paul brings over thirty-five years’ experience advising some of the construction industry’s leading contractors and consultants both in the UK and internationally. As a Fellow and President of the Chartered Institute of Building, Paul has also been engaged in raising awareness of key issues affecting the construction sector.
‘Having first worked with Aberley over six years ago, it was their approach to business that made me want to join. With Meirion and Fiona, we have an ambitious plan to be a business that offers all services around the lifecycle of a project. Not just a bigger firm, but wider services and a wider sector reach too, expanding beyond the corporate.’
Previously holding senior positions in firms such as Davis Langdon Aecom, Sweett Group and EC Harris LLP, there is a wealth of expertise that Paul offers Aberley. However, while his career has been predominantly within large consultancy firms, Paul sees Aberley’s smaller size as the future of the industry:
‘Whereas larger firms tend to work on larger projects, clients are now looking for a more personal service. They want to speak to the owner or the senior manager in a consultancy firm because they like to see us as consultants taking an interest in their business. The industry is demanding a more agile service that focuses on personal client contact, which is why Aberley has such a strong industry position and reputation with its clients.’
Paul believes that their client-focused approach to business is the foundation which will enable Aberley to grow and extend its existing services in a logical way:
‘The truth is, we want to be in a position five or ten years from now where Aberley is a recognised brand in terms of the business we do. You can focus on turnover for growth, but it’s not about growth for growth’s sake. We aim to create value for clients because it always comes down to people and their approach to business. That delivers a sustainable brand; with this, we have the opportunity for something special.’
Paul has an MSc in Project Management from the University of Reading and is an Alumni of Henley Management College.
